Do you feel like you spend a lot of time on YouTube sometimes? After all, with so much cool content being produced on the platform, YouTube has taken on new meanings over the years. In addition to being an entertainment space, it is also a news and learning space. Therefore, YouTube has increasingly become a reference on the internet.
But if you feel like you’re spending more time than necessary on YouTube, did you know that you can set reminders to take breaks and even sleep?
That way, you can take care of your digital well-being and also focus on important tasks. This function is available in the YouTube app for Android and iOS devices. I’ll show you how to set it up!
Learn how to set up reminders on YouTube
Step 1: on the YouTube homepage, tap on its “Profile” icon to see more options;
step 2: do that, select the “Settings” category;
step 3: then tap “General”;
step 4: on this page, just activate one of the YouTube reminder options;
step 5: if you want to reduce the time you spend in the app a little bit, you can set a reminder. So, after using YouTube for a certain period of time, you’ll receive a notification that it’s time to take a break;
step 6: Now, if you often watch a lot of videos before bed and you feel that it is disrupting your sleep, you can also set a “Sleep” period on YouTube. That way, if you try to watch a video at the time you’ve set to sleep, you’ll need to turn off the reminder first;
step 7: with everything right, your settings are saved and you can change them as you wish on YouTube.
