Hu Tao is finally available in Genshin Impact. In addition to a new quest, she brings with her the Moment to Bloom banner, which will increase your chances of pulling Hu Tao when you’re making your wishes and sacrificing your intertwined destinies.
But even if you failed to pull Hu Tao, you can start his story quest, A Perfect Farewell. This quest has you accompanying Hu Tao through a long dungeon full of spiders, monsters, and even ghosts.
Genshin Impact – Hu Tao’s Quest Guide

Start the quest by heading to Wuwang Hill to find Hu Tao. We will be sending a spirit, not a malevolent spirit, just one that fought to die. We will be helping in the process by bringing a lot of souvenirs to Wuwang Hill.
A small cave nearby – a dungeon – and Hu Tao will lead us inside. Note that it is recommended to have a team of characters of at least level 35 before venturing inside.
One cool thing about entering the dungeon is that Hu Tao will join you, so you can test her abilities even if you fail to pull her into a summon. She’s a Pyro character, which is good, as you’ll find Cryo slimes and cobwebs that need to be burned away.
Most of the time, you must defeat enemies, burn cobwebs, and follow your waypoint to blast through the dungeon.
How to Open the door in A Perfect Farewell
The door proved to be the most challenging part of this quest, so here’s what you’ll need to open it and cross to “the frontier”.
The doors of this dungeon open when the lanterns next to them have small spirits attached to them, similar to the Steelers. You will find floating and glowing sprites, and you must collect and return them to these shrines.
The hardest door in the dungeon can be tricky, so follow these instructions to get through:
- Grab the spirit in the center of the room and exit through the cobwebbed hallway to the left of the door.
- Follow the path and jump into the water – swim to the end of this channel.
- Keep following the path, keeping to the left, going downstairs when necessary, you’ll find yourself in a room identical to the one where you started, but you’ll have to carry two spirits with you, one for each shrine, opening the way forward.
After all of the above is completed, you should find yourself at the end of the story quest.
